My Birthday
Happy Birthday to me. My girlfriend tried last night to make me dinner although I was still going to be required to eat it by myself since she had night class. It didn’t quite turn out like it was supposed to. She did make some meat that I brought for lunch to work today and that was about the only thing she made that came out correctly, except for the cake which she said was ugly, it tasted good though. She made some twice baked potatos in the oven which looked good but had to be thrown away because she had put the glass dish they were in on the stove with a burner turned on and the glass exploded. There were also some veggies I think, I couldn’t tell, the pan was blackened and in the sink, there were a few beans in the pan still. She was a little upset, I found it kinda funny and sweet that at least she tried because she doesn’t cook at all. I look forward to eating more cake tonight too which isn’t going to help me much with my weight loss goals, I will just have to pace myself and eat just a small piece each night. Or I could eat it all tonight and take the temptation away, hmm that seems like a good idea too.

Monday night weigh in
28 pounds to go for my target weight that I want by Christmas. The sad thing is that I don’t think I have time to hit my target weight without it being unhealthy weight loss. In order to do it I would have to lose 4 – 5 pounds a week and I have heard they say that its only safe to lose 2 -3 pounds a week. So I will fall a little short of my goal but I will still push forward to it and keep everyone update on my progress. Let the encouragement and questions flow.

Ubuntu is woking!!
So earlier this week I installed Ubuntu (see www.ubuntu.com). The only problem with it that I had was the wireless Internet would not work. So I went and got some new wires and plugged it in with wires and I am now up and running without any extra changes made at all. So now I am actually writing this from within Ubuntu itself and I’ve already got several things up and running which is also cool. I’ve also got all of my necessary applications up and running, I can watch movies and listen to mp3s. Now I have to start fiddling with Wine to see if I can get some of the games I enjoy playing running also some key software like BigOven that I use as my recipe collection and MS Money which I already know might be a little more difficult if its possible at all. Exciting stuff!
